The StarDome is our inflatable portable planetarium which travels throughout Ireland to delight and educate audiences of all ages. The inflated StarDome stands an impressive 12 feet high and is capable of accommodating up to 30 children or 25 adults inside. The audience enters through the air lock and sits on the floor, before relaxing and enjoying a trip around the most fascinating objects in the night sky as the StarDome presenter uses a variety of specialised projectors to accurately project the heavens.

The StarDome Planetarium has quickly become a firm favourite with schools and groups by offering an educational experience in unique surroundings. Since 2000 the Stardome has delighted over one hundred thousand children and adults all over Ireland. All shows are live and the audience is actively encouraged to participate and ask questions. It offers children a chance to come out of the classroom and learn about science in a fun and interactive way.

What age range is the StarDome suitable for?

StarDome shows are performed live with a presenter, with show themes being tailored to suit the particular needs of an audience, whether it is nursery, primary, secondary, special needs or adult groups. All StarDome shows include a tour of the current night sky, but they can also incorporate other topics such as the Solar System, Greek mythology, meteorites and living in space. We are happy to present any other topics that you may suggest.

A typical show lasts for 40 minutes, depending on the age of the audience. Schools can expect to have at least 120 children (30 x 4 shows) to participate in presentations during a single day.

What requirements and space do I need to book the StarDome?

To book StarDome you must have the following:

• A quiet indoor area measuring a minimum of 24 feet wide x 24 feet long x 12 feet high
• A socket outlet (plug point)
