Armagh Planetarium can offer an extensive range of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) funded activities tailored to suit your needs.

It is government policy is to encourage young people to consider careers in Science.  To promote this special funding has been released to allow schools to concentrate on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) topics as it is understood that to remain competitive, countries must rely on the inventiveness of their population.  Inventiveness is better nurtured by having a prepared mind, where there is an easy facility with the language of mathematics and science, so that the new engineering solutions that we will need for the future can be developed.

Thanks to the government’s STEM initiative, many schools now have funding available for projects aimed at encouraging students into Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education and careers.

If your school has received STEM funding, Armagh Planetarium can provide an exciting range of activities certain to fascinate your students.

Here at the Armagh Planetarium, we have both Outreach (off-site) activities and Inreach (on-site) activities available.

If you are interested in something slightly different, or to book a visit either to your school or here at the Planetarium, please contact us on 028 3752 3689 and we will tailor a workshop to suit your requirements.
