REACHING FOR THE STARS AT THE BALMORAL SHOW 2006
May 10th - 12th saw three days of glorious sunshine where visitors to the Balmoral Show were able to view at first hand the cream of Ulster's horses, ponies, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, eggs, rabbits and cattle.
If that wasn't enough to keep the crowds entertained, children of all ages were also invited to make and launch their own space rocket at Armagh Planetarium's stand. Paper, scissors, colouring pencils, sticky tape, creativity and enthusiasm were rife as dozens of budding young engineers designed their own space rockets. The children used air pressure as the fuel to project the rockets into the sky (or to be more exact…the roof of the Balmoral Hall). All rockets were released by pressing the red launch button after the countdown 5… 4… 3... 2…1...go!
