| Armagh
Planetarium's distinctive landmark dome has
undergone recent cosmetic surgery. Restoration
of the exterior of the dome was started in
August 2003 and took over three months to
complete. |
| The
pictures below show the dome before work began.
Old age and inclement weather conditions had
left the exterior of the dome in poor condition. |
| The first stage
of the restoration was to clean the dome in
preparation for a new surface layer to seal
the dome making it weather proof. |
| Once
the weather seal was applied, the dome was
painted to blend in with the existing main
building. |
